Hope, like the gentle fluttering of a butterfly, stirs in my heart. It’s a summer morning, a new day, an opportunity for the Son to rise in my heart again. Yesterday’s slips and falls, delays and frustrations, belong to yesterday. I can live in them or release them. That choice is mine.
But blessed are those who trust in the LORD and have made the LORD their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit. Jeremiah 17:7-8 (NLT)
I want to move forward. I want to have purpose. I want to have hope.
My Lord beckons me. He asks me to step into today with confidence and clarity. I can choose to walk with Jesus or walk in fear and trepidation. I choose Jesus. I put my hand in His.
The warmth of the day spreads through me and a smile plays at the corners of my mouth. I’m ready.
