Is there hope for a hurting heart?

Did you ever smash your finger in a car door or break your big toe? I can still remember when the groomsmen kidnapped me right after my wedding. They pushed me into the back seat of a two-door car and I put my foot on the front seat (which was folded forward) to support myself. Just that quickly someone sat on that seat and as the seat back came down on my big toe there was a pop. It hurt! I not only saw stars; they danced in front of me. Now I know that no one intended to hurt me, but I had to fix the problem with a splint to allow that toe to heal. Our pains in life need a “fix”.

Why is it necessary to look at past pains? Because unresolved pain leads to bigger issues. The pain in my toe isn’t as severe today because I have already survived the initial incident, and healing took place. Jesus is waiting to help you. You can succeed because of His great power at work in you.

Philippians 1:6 says, "being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus".

As you read this verse think about what God has done in your life to grow you and complete you. The One who began the good work in you at your salvation has many more good things in store. How confident are you that Jesus is going to do a complete and a good work in you?

Let your faith reach out to grasp His hand of love. Let hope move you into new beginnings. God’s purpose and plan for you is beautiful. Go after it! Today is a new day!!!
